The Republic of Maldives is characterized by a tropical climate which is generally warm and humid. The weather is to a large extent determined by the monsoons: there's a northeast monsoon from November to April and a southwest monsoon from May to October. During the months of June and July the southwest monsoon tends to bring more wind and rain. Sun shines all year through and the temperature seldomly falls below 25C or 77F. The average temperature lies around 28 to 32C or 82 to 90F. The best time to go is between November and April. Relatively speaking, April is the hottest, December the coolest and February the most dry month of the year.
Because the Republic of Maldives is located in the equatorial belt, severe storms are rare.
Annual rainfall: 1796.3 mm
Average number of hours of daily sunshine: 8
Maximum temperature: 32C or 90F
Minimum temperature: 26C or 78F
